Yes, That’s a Photo of a Car Driving Up Stairs in Syracuse in 1920
Ah the 1920s, the dawn of the age of the Automobile Age: Model A's and Model T's and someday cars might even fly. And why not, technology had already advanced sufficiently to allow cars to drive up stairs.
That's exactly what this car is doing in this photo from 1920. The description of the photo says
A car salesman shows of[f] the hill climbing abilities of his car by driving up a set of stairs near Syracuse, New York in 1920.
Of course the photo got me wondering. Where exactly is/was this staircase. Any one have any idea? Comment below.
We asked the Onondaga Historical Association, and they say the crematorium at the Oakwood Cemetery, which would certainly be an odd choice for a car sales demonstration.
