Utica Comets Coach Kevin Dineen is Fired After Oh-and-Eight Start
Utica Comets head coach Kevin Dineen has been fired by the New Jersey Devils after an oh-and-8 start on the young AHL season. Assistant Coach Ryan Parent will serve as Interim Head Coach for the rest of the season. The announcement was made by Devils’ President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and Devils’ Assistant General Manager/Utica Comets General Manager Dan MacKinnon.

British Police have arrested EIHL hockey player Matt Petgrave on manslaughter charges after the death of former NHL player Adam Johnson. Petgrave, who played two seasons with the Utica Comets from 2018 through 2020, was involved in a collision with Johnson during a game on October 28th that resulted in his death.

There was about 2:30 remaining in the second period with the Comets leading Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2-1 when the power and all of the lights went out at the Adirondack Bank Center.
