Before you kick off your 4th of July weekend, it looks like Mother Nature will kick off some strong storms across Central New York.

If you've been dreaming of thunderstorms dancing in your head, you may be in luck. It looks like this afternoon we could see some strong storms from Syracuse - Oneonta.

The National Weather Service is keeping an eye on some storms coming our way this afternoon. It looks like we may get some thunder and rain storms.

Madison County wasn't the only place a tornado touched down. The National Weather Service is now confirming two more hit in Oneida County.

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF2 tornado with wind speeds of 100-125 mph touched down in Smithfield, New York where four people were killed.

A late night storm blew through Central New York, tearing down tree, power lines and street signs. The hardest hit areas seem to be Westmoreland and Verona, where traffic was backed up on RT 365.
