If you're still looking for a family Halloween activity, here's one that's fun, a little bit spooky AND a little bit historical.

Once again, the Westmoreland Historical Society opens it's unique one-room schoolhouse for trick-or-treating and Halloween fun. They will be hosting treats, along with games, prizes, and tours of the "haunted" schoolhouse, all decked out for the season.

It's a perfect educational distraction for the kids before they tear into the serious candy binge - it teaches the young ones a little bit about local history, but the Halloween theme keeps it fun for the whole family. The schoolhouse is maintained by the Westmoreland Historical Society. They also host a Flag Day event and other local history activities, which you can learn more about on their Facebook page. The Westmoreland Summer Activities Association is helping to put on this year's Halloween event. It's free and open to the public from 5-7pm, Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
