Taylor Swift has admitted she owns a collection of hip-hop playlists filled with verses by Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown, and has professed her love for Wiz Khalfia. So who did she listen to while recording the emotion-laden and vulnerable 'Red'?

"When I'm writing a record I don't listen to much music -- just because I want to be inspired solely on the emotion, just based on how it feels," she confessed.

"And so I think for me, the only artists I listened to were Snow Patrol and Ed Sheeran, and that's the reason why I wanted to collaborate with those people on the record."

When listening to those tracks -- 'The Last Time' Feat. Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody and 'Everything Has Changed' with Ed Sheeran -- we noticed a bit of their sonic styles (Lightbody's ethereal melodies and Sheeran's rhythmic tapping) infused with Taylor's songwriting. Clearly Swift is a sponge, and can not only pick up styles easily but meshes well with just about anyone. It makes us think of the unlimited collaborations she could do!

Check back Monday morning at 8AM ET for a full interview with Taylor Swift, exclusively over on our sister site, Taste of Country. And don't forget to pick up a copy of 'Red,' which drops on Oct. 22!
