Taylor Swift Plays ‘New Year’s Day’ in Surprise Performance: ICYMI
Taylor Swift treated her fans to a late-night thrill when she stopped by The Tonight Show on Monday (Nov. 13) to perform a new Reputation track.
Swift appeared on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show to perform "New Year's Day," already a fan favorite from her new sixth LP. Seated at a piano, Swift demanded attention with the introspective and emotional tune.
Fallon, back on the show for the first time since the death of his mother, had teased Swift's performance earlier Monday with an Instagram video.
Mike DiCenzo, a producer for The Tonight Show, explained on Twitter how the Tonight team managed to get Swift to appear, and noted the staff wanted to honor Fallon in the wake of his mother's death.
A choked-up Fallon, himself, delivered an on-air memorial to his mother, remembering the glorious life of Gloria.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, viewers were treated to another installment of the show's signature bit, "Mean Tweets." This one came with a twist, though: in honor of Kimmel's 50th birthday, celebrities read mean tweets about him.
And, finally, Jaden Smith stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden to perform the high energy song "Watch Me." Take a look below.
