Terrie Hall was a very brave woman who starred in very powerful ads to convince people to stop smoking. Sadly, she has died of cancer at 53. Terrie passed away recently in a hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Fox News reports that:

This summer, Hall's cancer spread to her brain. She died early Monday morning at a hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C., with family and friends at her bedside.

Not only have these ads been seen on television all across America but they also have received more than 2.8 million views on YouTube.

"She was a public health hero," said the CDC's director, Dr. Tom Frieden.
