Next month, the eyes of the world will be watching the events happening in the Russian town of Sochi.  The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi will be the most expensive Olympic Games ever.

When Russia won the bid in 2007 for the 2014 Winter Games, the price tag to host the Olympics was estimated to be around $12 billion.  That number has since skyrocketed to $50 billion.

High speed rails, new sporting facilities, hotels and new roads have all helped the cost of the Games to balloon to $50 billion.  With increased concerns about security, that pricetag could get even higher between now and February 7th, when the Olympics begin.

How much of the Winter Olympics are your planning to watch?  Have a favorite event?  I like the skating the best.  They make it look so easy, you can almost forget they're on ice.   Go Team USA!
