Lady Gaga's future will very likely involve a second deep dive into the past.

Tony Bennett, with whom Gaga recorded 2014's collection of standards Cheek to Cheek, told Billboard there's a follow up on deck, if Gaga's able to make the time.

"She and I are talking about doing a second album," Bennett, who turns 90 today (August 3), said. "She's busy right now, but at the beginning of next year we'll start doing an album. The first one went way over a million, and it's still selling."

"There'll be just wonderful songs that she and I both like," he added,

Bennett first said in October 2015 that he and Gaga were planning a Cole Porter-themed album, and that the experience of working on Cheek to Cheek together made him a lifelong fan.

"[The album’s] going to be all Cole Porter songs,” he told Vulture. “He was the best writer of all of them in the Great American Songbook. Highly intelligent. We’re going to have a lot of fun doing that...Gaga is a gorgeous singer, and when she sings a great ballad, I get goose bumps."

The success of Cheek to Cheek considered, it comes as no surprise a follow-up could be in the works. The LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won a Grammy Award for best traditional pop vocal album.

As a solo artist, on the other hand, Gaga hasn't released an album since 2013's Artpop. Today (August 3), though, Mark Ronson told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 that some of Gaga's forthcoming work (likely a separate solo project) is among the best he's ever helped to create.

"It’s some of my favorite music I’ve really ever worked on. It’s incredible — I love it," he said.

Excited to hear these two might be back in the studio again together soon, or are you jonesing for solo Gaga? Share your thoughts in the comments.
