Utica’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade Rescheduled For March 25th
Utica's St Patrick's Day Parade will now be held on Saturday, March 25th.
Event organizers and City officials decided to cancel tomorrow's parade due to weather concerns. Forecasters say with the wind chill, it could feel up to 20 degrees-below zero tomorrow.
Mayor Rob Palmieri says two weeks provides enough time to ensure adequate staffing for public safety. Palmieri says the parade route and start time will remain the same.
Utica Police say even though there will be no parade tomorrow, they're prepared to provide a safe environment on Varick Street.
Varick Street will be closed to traffic until 6:00 p.m. and police say backpacks, aluminum cans and glass bottles will not be allowed.
