Here's a traffic report for Syracuse: Expect some slowdowns and occasional gridlock in certain downtown areas for the next week.

"The Binge," the movie starring actor Vince Vaughn, which has been shooting recently all over the Syracuse metro area, will be shutting down portions of Hanover Square over the course of the next week as certain scenes are being filmed. Traffic flow will be permitted periodically, but curtailed while cameras are rolling. Oh, and a couple of other notes of interest:

1. One scene will involve a large amount of balloons. Jared Martin, the owner of Balloons Over Syracuse told Syracuse.com and the Post Standard "that he will be providing a lot of balloons for the production in Hanover Square."

2. The film crew has been looking for a local cat. So, if you have a cat that's ready for its close-up and its shot at stardom, you might want to contact the movie's production team.

The American High film company is based at the former A.V. Zogg Middle School in Liverpool, now known as Syracuse Studios. The studio's founder and owner Jeremy Garelick's film credits include “The Wedding Ringer," “The Hangover," and “The Break-Up."
