A large building that was part of Kodak's once sprawling industrial park in Rochester was imploded to make way for renovations to Eastman Business Park.

The implosion took place early on Saturday July 18, 2015.

While Building 53 was once at the heart of Kodak's film production works, Kodak Park has been in a transformative period as the use of film for photos and video diminished. A company spokesperson told the Democrat & Chronicle that new uses for the business park include

companies [that] will come in and build new bio-materials facilities in the eastern portion of the Eastman Business Park campus. One big project has already been announced: a fermentation cluster.

Fay Street Warehouse Implosion in Utica

Utica's Fay Street Warehouse was imploded in March 2014, an event refered to as the #UticaBigBang, as part of a large-scale project to rebuild the North-South Arterial.
