The Great New York State Fair held its annual Best Tasting Water in New York State competition yesterday and ten municipalities competed for the title of best water in the Empire State.

Last year's champion, Albany, was dethroned by a downstate city.

Accuse me of being a homer, but I think the Adirondack-fed Utica municipal drinking water is the best.The competition pitted communities that won regional water taste tests.  Other cities in the running this year included New Berlin, Clifton Park, Schenectady, Rochester and Fredonia.
