The TV network associated with environmental consciousnesses, Planet Green, has evolved into a new network known as Destination America.

Destination America is owned by Discovery Communications, the company behind the Discovery Channel family of cable networks, and has actually been around since 1996.  The channel has gone through many incarnations including Discovery Travel and Living and Discovery Home.

Planet Green was singed on in 2008 with envionmental themed shows.  However, Discovery Communications determined in 2010 that the network wasn't going to make it and started working on a re-brand.

On Memorial Day 2012, the channel was rebranded at 'Destination America,' targeting rival network The Travel Channel
