In honor of World Cancer Day, I thought I would share this story with you.

Back in 2013 my sister was diagnosed with Stage III  non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It was a pretty rough time for the family, but we tried to make the best of a bad situation.

I know my sister was feeling pretty down when her hair started falling out, so my dad and I decided to do something special for her. He shaved his head (which he had never done before in his entire life), and I did the same.

I donated my hair to Locks of Love - I figured it should go for something, instead of just being wasted. But the biggest thing - The one reason it was all worth it...

It made my sister smile.

The finished product! That's the hair that was donated to Locks of Love, and me sporting the fresh-shaved look.

I'm happy to say, my sister is in remission now, and is doing well.

That's the best news a family can get. I can only wish other families and friends dealing with a similar situation, receive the same wonderful news.
