What’s The Average IRS Refund This Year?

Taxes done yet?  If they are and you're getting a refund,  you're probably keeping an eye out for that check, if you haven't already received it.  I once received a refund check for seventy five cents!  Can you believe it?  No kidding.    I wonder why they wasted the postage to send it.  Anyhow,  just how much is the average tax refund this year?  It's higher than I would've thought.

The IRS says the average refund this year is three thousand dollars.  With the tax filing day coming up on April 18th, the quickest way to get your refund is to file your taxes electronically and have the money deposited directly into your bank account.  Doing it that way speeds up the refunds and you should get it in less than three weeks.  Filing the paper way takes about six weeks to process.  So far the IRS has received about 75 million returns with about 65 million qualifying for refunds.  Just how much do they expect to refund this year?  Betwen 250 and 300 billion dollars!  Are you getting a big refund?
