The quintessential Halloween house, 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville, New York is up for grabs again for the first time in 11 years and for the asking price of just under a million bucks, it could be yours!
Like something out of Dora the Explorer, the Light 98.7 van went up the hill past a construction site and several windy roads later I finally happened upon a playground and the Clinton Early Learning Center tucked away in the woods of Hamilton College.
Hey Star Wars fans! Mark Hamill, that once spritely 26 year old rookie actor whose name we all know today because he was encouraged by his buddy Robert Englund (Yup, Freddy) to audition for that little low-budget film that no movie studio would touch back in the day has a birthday today.
No, this isn't something out of a science fiction movie, but the discovery of a new species has put construction of a new highway in Texas at a complete stand-still... And it's not a giant spider like in the movies that would halt our hearts much less construction projects! It's an tiny little dime-size blind (no, really) spider called the Braken Bat Cave Meshweaver and it has only been seen by humans twice... EVER, and the last time was some three decades ago.
Star Wars has seen many re-imaginings since the first time x-wings and tie-fighters graced our eyes back in 1977, from movie remakes to video games animated series to fan films. You've probably seen the most recent animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and you may've seen a fan film or two, but what you may not've seen is this...
I'm telling ya, those Edible Arrangements are so scrumptious looking... It was so hard to deliver that fruit bouquet completely intact, minus the pineapple and all the other mouth-watering melons and fruit! But I exercised a little self-control and delivered the whole thing to Melanie and her co-workers for brunch at the Oneida County Office for the Aging in North Utica.

Remember these? I honestly haven't even seen these cereals much less had them on my countertop in decades! Of course the boxes looked much different (and bigger) back when General Mills rolled these out in the early 70's a couple of years before I was born but I can remember chowing on them regularly up until I discovered Pop Tarts anyway. :P
No, they're not crop circles, but as we get ready for the 2012 Halloween season right around the corner, we thought we'd round up all of the goodies that you can go to and maybe even take the little tykes to for a season of fall fun and scares!
Watching the flying balloon house in Disney/Pixar's 'Up!' of course got my wheels turning thinking 'yeah right' that'd happen in real life, but looks like the folks at National Geographic decided to bust (or should I say pop) that myth!
I was first introduced to this awesome video, 'Everyday' back in 2006 when one of my piano students wanted to play the song that was written for this extremely unique project. Photographer, Noah Kalina at the age of 19 took a photo of himself in the same pose every day for six whole years and then strung them all together in a video and commissioned Carly Commando to write a song by the same name as the soundtrack.
Yeah, he won the nations most visible and sought-after vocal competition and is in Syracuse right now at the War Memorial getting set to wow you with the same voice and the fingers you saw on TV every Wednesday night. Now granted of course he's sharing the stage with the rest of the season's Top 10 tonight, but he deserves some special attention...
