A musical adaptation of the 80s hit movie "Flashdance" opens in Utica later this month (December '12), and we were so inspired by this, we couldn't help but recreate one of the movie's most famous scenes.

What is a 'tech show' all about?  From Oldiez961.com:

A “tech show” is coming to Utica, being revived after an absence of about thirty years from the big screen. “Flashdance the Musical” will be making its theatrical debut in Utica before moving on to Broadway.

This is the third time the Broadway Theatre League has been able to secure a tech show for the Stanley Theatre in the past eighteen months. The show is directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo. The movie version, released in 1983, made more than $150 million and featured a Grammy-award winning soundtrack. It also inspired distinctive fashion that became synonymous with “the eighties.”

The show will be presented on December 28-29, 2012 at the Stanley Theatre. For more info Click Here.

What scene were we inspired to do?  The Jennifer Beals 'Maniac' scene, of course.  Compare Mark Richards doing the Flashdance with the theatrical original.
