About one in 10 women who give birth each year go through postpartum depression.  That's according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

New York State is now telling health insurers they must cover maternal depression screenings for pregnant women as well as those who have just given birth.  They are being told to start the coverage as soon as possible and no later than six months.  They also must offer this coverage with no copayment, coinsurance or deductible.
