Saying goodbye is never easy - and saying goodbye to my first car that was ever completely mine, well that was tough too. Do you remember your first car? The memories that were made?

First of all, let me clear something up - no I'm not 16. This was the first car that I bought on my own, paid off, had to take care of (oil changes, new tires, all that good stuff), and drove until it died. I had owned other cars in the past, but this was the first one that made it through my life for many, MANY years.

It may not seem like a big deal - getting rid of a car, but this one held a special place in my heart. Not only was it the first one that was truly mine (and had gone through so much), but it was also the vehicle that got me to New York.

Saying goodbye to my car was like saying goodbye to another piece of Michigan, which I have to say is bittersweet. I love the idea that Central New York is my new home, and want to make myself at home as much as possible, but I will also always remember where I come from.

Yes, it has been a weird thing to say goodbye, but it looks like I'm on to something newer and better. Which reminds me... I better start looking for a new car!
