Did you watch the first presidential debate between Obama and Romney last Wednesday?  Regardless of who you think won the debate, it was a ratings success.   Just how many Americans tuned in?  67.2 million  Americans tuned in to watch Obama and Romney's first debate,  which is much higher than the previous presidential debates  of the past eight years.   Not only did last Wednesday's debate score higher ratings than any of the 2004 and 2008 presidential debates, it also now ranks among the top ten most watched debates of the past thirty years.  According to Neilsen, the most watched presidential debate was the October 1980 debate between Carter and Reagan.  Neilsen has only been collecting presidential debate data since 1976.  By the way, the next debate will be the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan on October 11th.  Then Obama and Romney debate again on October 16th and October 22nd.  Will you be watching?
