It's that time again - running season. If you want an early season race or are just looking for something fun to get involved in, the Wilber-Duck Mile is for you.

The Wilber-Duck Mile is a community event that Oneida residents and running enthusiasts alike look forward to every year. It always starts with a special race event between the Oneida Fire Department and a neighboring department - this year the friendly competition is the Oneida Castle Fire Department. They say it every year - good luck, because the Oneida team has never lost.

There's also female and male flights, and a 1 mile walk to round out the evening. They've also added live entertainment this year, along with lots of food.

The great thing about this community event is that it benefits a couple special groups - Fit Kids of Madison County and The Oneida United Way. It is really a great partnership between lots of local businesses that donate their time and merchandise to make this a race that people keep coming back for every year. You can find the application at the Syracuse Track Club's website.

The 18th Annual Wilber-Duck Mile is Friday, May 19, 2017 at 116 Broad Street in Oneida. Find out more at their Facebook Event Page.
