"Sweetest Day" is the ideal time to show your special someone how much you love them. Here are 5 ways you can commemorate this special day.

There's a chance you've never even heard of "Sweetest Day." I first heard about it three years ago. My significant other told me all about it after I mentioned to her I was headed out on the town to watch football with the boys. According to Hallmark.com:

Sweetest Day was established around 1922 by Herbert Birch Kingston, a Cleveland, Ohio, candy company employee who wanted to bring happiness to the lives of those who often were forgotten.

"Sweetest Day" is often celebrated by those who want to show how much they care about one another. Some couples choose to exchange gifts, while others decide to go out for a fun day on the town. Remind your man to put this date on his iPhone calendar:

Sweetest Day is always observed on the third Saturday in October, which falls on Oct. 17 in 2015.
