My 12 year old self is so happy, maybe some of you 'young at heart'-ers are as well!

When I was a kid, I loved fruity cereal. I still do to this day eat fruit loops as a snack whenever I'm hungry. One of my favorite cereals to eat for breakfast growing up was Trix. But in 2006, the fun was taken out of eating them every morning.

2006 was the year that General Mills decided to change the shape of the cereal, from fruit shaped to plain ol' round balls. I remember I was SO angry that I wrote a letter to General Mills telling them I was upset.

Well, GOOD NEWS! It was announced on Monday that they will be bringing back the fruit shapes!

Scott Baldwin, director of marketing for General Mills Cereal Trix said the company heard loud and clear that fans wanted to see the iconic shapes back in their bowls:

""When Trix launched in 1954, it was the first fruit-flavored cereal that was colorful and fun. We're excited to continue that legacy, bringing an extra dose of joy to breakfast."

In case you don't remember, Trix made its debut in stores in 1991. and was a huge staple in the '90s.

You've got a lot to look forward to with this. The shapes will include flavors raspberry red, lemony lemon, orangey orange, wildberry blue, grapity purple and watermelon.

Are you as excited as I am? I can't wait to eat this again, and actually have fun eating breakfast. #innerchild
