Several ambulances are first responders are on the scene of an avalanche at the famous Mount Washington in New Hampshire.  The incident occurred in an area known as Tuckerman Ravine.

WMUR-TV in Manchester is reporting that at least three people are injured and the area had been under an avalanche warning.

Mount Washington is known for some of the most intense and worst winter weather in the Eastern United States.  At 6,288 feet, it's the highest summit in the East and once held the record for the highest wind gust ever recorded on earth at 231 miles per hour.
