Beauty and the Beast Live at Rome Capitol Theatre

The classic tale of Belle and the Beast comes to life this weekend on the stage of Rome's Capitol Theatre.

Rome Capitol Theatre is hosting the SummerStage production of Beauty and the Beast. They are presenting the broadway musical adaptation of the 1991 Disney animated film, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. It was first presented on Broadway in 1994. Touring companies have brought this show all over the country for years, but this is the first time SummerStage has produced the show at the Rome, NY stage.

Local Director Peter Loftus is renowned for his productions, showcasing world class talent from our region. The actors and crew range from students to seasoned professionals, beginners to music teachers, even parents with their children. Loftus' genius is finding and molding local performers and tech crews, but the real success is a result of everyone's passion for what they do.

Beauty and the Beast will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, July 13th through 15th, at 7:30pm each night. Find out more at Rome Capitol's Facebook page.
