You've heard of the Rome Rescue Mission, and you probably know their saying 'A hand up, not a handout,' but have you ever wondered what they're really about?

Last week, Matt and Naomi from your Workday Kick-Off got the chance to tour the Rome Rescue Mission, and learn a little bit about what they do in the community. It was an experience unlike any other, a real eye-opening moment.

Sure you have probably heard their saying 'A hand up, not a handout,' but have you ever wondered about what that really means? Well, it means a lot for the community. Instead of just giving out food, looking at people as just another number, getting people in and out the doors, the Rome Rescue Mission really believes in helping out the community and making lives better.

The Rome Rescue Mission stands behind the belief of holding people accountable. Instead of just giving people items to survive, they give people items and tools to make their life better. It reminds me of the saying, 'Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for life.' It's pretty much what they're doing over at the Rome Rescue Mission.

Matt and Naomi got the chance to tour the Rome Rescue Mission, and learn about their cause. Check out some of the pics from their meeting.
