A list of the Top 50 places to live in the United States is out, and one city in New York was able to make the cut. And no, it wasn't New York City.

We love to hear of places in New York getting recognized for being great areas - Especially when an article focuses on more than just New York City (seems like people tend to forget that there is a whole state besides just the city). This article does just that. Business Insider released their list of the "50 Best Places to Live in America" and only one city in New York made the list. That's right - New York City didn't even make it!

Now, we know what you're thinking, 'there's 50 states and they named 50 places. Obviously one for each state so they had to pick something in New York'. Well, that wasn't the case. Kansas never made the list - Neither did a few other states. Florida had many cities on the list, and Washington DC was included as well.

So you're probably wondering what city it was. Well, sorry it wasn't Syracuse, Rome, or Utica. It wasn't even Rochester or Buffalo. They named Albany as one of the best places to live in America. It came in at #36 on their list of 50. According to Business Insider,

Albany offers a cost of living lower than the national average; the cost of housing sits well below the rest of the US as a whole. In terms of jobs, the city’s tech and healthcare industries are on the rise.

On their scale of 1 to 10, Albany came in at a 6.9 for "Quality of Life," and 6.8 for "Overall Value."

Congratulations to Albany! It beat out thousands upon thousands of other cities to be included in this list. Now, if only we could get Utica or Rome on the list....
Or maybe even Little Falls?
