Burger King is Paying for One Lucky Couple’s Wedding (Just Because of Their Names)

Weddings can get pretty expensive, pretty fast. Imagine if your wedding was all taken care of for you, just because of your name. One lucky couple now has one less thing to worry about before tying-the-knot.

A big congratulations to the Illinois couple Joel Burger and Ashley King! They announced their wedding engagement by posing next to a Burger King sign (get it? Joel BURGER and Ashley KING?? That's great!).

Well, the good folks at Burger King caught wind of this story and wanted to be a part of it. During a video chat on Monday, the fast-food chain surprised the couple with some great news. According to the NY Daily News,

“Burger King wants to help give you a whopper of a wedding,” a representative told the couple through a handwritten sign. “In other words, it’s on us.

...“We knew deep in our hearts that we wanted to honor the union of Mr. Burger and Ms. King in an unforgettable way,” [Spokesman for Burger King, Eric] Hirschhorn said.

 

Both Joel Burger and Ashley King were excited about the news - I mean, who wouldn't be? Burger King is paying for the wedding, and even bringing gifts for the ceremony. The fast-food chain did not mention how much money they were going to be spending, but who cares?! Any amount off a wedding bill is a good amount.

I wonder if they'll have whoppers at the reception...
