Camden Baby With Rare Disorder Has Brain Surgery [PHOTOS]

Lexi Relyea of Camden may only be 19 months old, but she's gone through more than most of us do in our life time. She was born six weeks early and was diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome, a very rare genetic disorder. Lexi has a stain on her face and glaucoma in her eye. She had two surgeries before she was 6 months old to implant a drain in her eye to control the pressure. After suffering from seizures in October, Lexi had to have brain surgery.

Doctors separated the two halves of her brain and although it sounds scary, Lexi came through the surgery successfully. 'She still cannot move the right side of her body well at all. She has a lot of therapy to do and a very long road ahead but she's getting stronger by the day,' Lexi's grandmother Kelly Conley says.

The therapy seems to be working. Lexi can now sit up on her own; a special moment for her family. She still is paralyzed in her right side but her family believes it's only a matter of time before she gets feeling back.

Doctors has originally planned to keep Lexi in the hospital for another 3 weeks but her therapists felt she'd do better at home with her sister, so they let her come home Friday.

Despite the good news with Lexi's recovery, her parents Amanda Spink and Matt Relyea are struggling with mounting medical bills. Plus, Amanda isn't working so she can take care of Lexi.
