If you're looking for a little weekend getaway or even a nice day trip, you may want to check out this city that was named one of the most charming places in our country.

Who doesn't like to get away every once in a while?? And why not explore a beautiful area in New York's "wine country"? The good people at "House Beautiful" created a list of the "50 Charming American Towns You Haven't Heard of But Should Visit ASAP." Although, we live in New York, so the town they named for New York we already know... But many outsiders don't. Same with other cities on the list in different states like, Milton, Delaware or Marietta, Ohio. I had never heard of these places.

But I do know the place they named for New York and I'm sure you do, too. Corning, New York took the #16 spot on House Beautiful's list of 50 Charming American Towns. And that's no surprise. This is what House Beautiful thought of the area:

Wineries and breweries: check. Panoramic views of a gorgeous lake: check. Restaurants filled with top-notch food: check. This southern Finger Lakes community offers something for everyone and has become a favorite for destination weddings.

Plus, Corning is also famous for the Corning Museum of Glass and the Rockwell Museum. This beautiful place has been on my "must visit" locations in New York, and I'll finally get to see it in person, and get to experience all the awesomeness it has to offer coming up in just a few weeks. My itinerary already includes the Corning Museum of Glass, but it also includes visiting the Gaffer District for some food and shopping.

Have you made your way to Corning, New York yet? If not, this is the perfect excuse to give the area a try. If you have, what are your favorite things to do, places to eat, and sights to visit? I would love to hear your thoughts - I may just use them on my trip there! You can always leave us a message or comment on our Lite 98.7 Facebook Page.
