With election primary season getting underway, it is getting closer to the time where we decide the next leader of our country, but did you know that President John F. Kennedy made a campaign stop in Ilion?

That's right, on September 29, 1960 Kennedy spoke to residents of the Village of Ilion just about a month before he was elected President of the United States.

The visit took place near Ilion's Central Plaza that is now occupied by Dollar General and the GPO Federal Credit Union.
