NewYorkUpstate.com used info from reviewers on Yelp to identify the 31 best bars in Upstate New York. A few familiar Central New York names and venues are on the list.
According to the NewYorkUpstate.com site, the top spots were determined "using an algorithm that looks at the number of reviews, star rating for a business, length of time a business has been opened." The following establishments in Oneida, Onondaga and Madison counties all made the grade, when it comes to drinks, service, and atmosphere:
- #29 Kitty Hoynes, Syracuse
- #15 The Tailor & the Cook, Utica (pictured)
- #6 Kindred Fare, Geneva
The #1 bar in Upstate New York for 2019, according to this study, is a place called Church, in Saratoga Springs.
