Fatal Accident Under Investigation in Skaneateles

A fatal accident is under investigation this morning.

Auburn resident Anthony Thomas was driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan on Old Seneca Turnpike in Skaneateles at approximately 5:49 Sunday morning, June 5, 2016.

According to a written release from New York State Police, the 41-year-old was driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan east on Old Seneca Turnpike when he allegedly failed to make a curve.  The vehicle went off the north shoulder, hit a tree, and overturned several times.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, 46-year-old Laura J. Anderson, also from Auburn, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
