It’s Cold & Flu Season in Central New York and the Cure is Chocolate

There's not a whole lot worse than working at your job while trying to fight off the cold or flu. If you just got over being sick, then you know firsthand. You may take immune boosters like Airborne to ensure that the sickness gets out of your system as soon as possible. However, there may be a new solution to that dreaded hacking and sneezing: Chocolate.

According an article published in Medical Daily, researchers found that chocolate is more effective than codeine in treating the common cough:
Cocoa contains a chemical called theobromine that can help the body fight off the symptoms of the common cold. A study found that the cocoa chemical blocked the action of sensory nerves in those with a cold. Blocking the sensory nerves will stop the cough reflex in a common cold.
Isn't it good to know that there's a delicious cure for something as atrocious as the cold or flu? From here on out, we can forget about having to spoon that dreaded tasting cough syrup.
