Follow The Yellow Brick Road to Oz-Stravaganza in Chittenango
Follow the yellow brick road to Chittenango for the annual 'Oz-Stravaganza', hosted by the International L. Frank Baum and All Things Oz Historical Foundation.
Chittenango is the birthplace of L. Frank Baum - and the small town in Central New York takes his legacy very seriously. Each year, to honor their native son, the historical foundation that bears his name hosts the 'Oz-Stravaganza - and what a celebration it is.
The Oz-Stravaganza is a three-day event stretching from Friday, June 1 - Sunday, June 3. The village-wide event includes a whole host of activities, including museum tours, a costume contest, a kid's fun run, amusement rides, and even a parade.
The event also acts as a fundraiser for the All Things Oz Museum, with funds being raised through a silent auction that carries on throughout the weekend. Auction items include all kinds of Oz-related items as well as non-Oz gift certificates, collectibles, and gift baskets.
If you're interested in attending, the All Things Oz Museum is located at 219 Genesee Street, Chittenango - and the event kicks off Friday at 10 am when the museum opens.
