This weekend marks the first of three for the largest charity book sale in the region:  the Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library Book Sale in Ithaca.

An entire warehouse is used to house the tens of thousands of volumes that are available.  The sale is held twice per year, once in spring and again in fall.  And it's new inventory each time - the entire stock of books is either sold or donated at the end of the sale.

The photo above was posted by the Book Sale on Friday afternoon, as anxious book buyers camped out for opening day tomorrow.

There is no way to capture the magnitue of the Book Sale in one photo, but the one below does a pretty good job showing the overview of the room - now imagine each isle packed with browsers looking over the shelves.
