Meet Anne Schug-Williams, a local heart attack survivor and a part of the Go Red for Women 'Go Red Survivor Class.' She shares her moving story with us.

Anne Schug-Williams had the signs of a heart attack: pain in her chest and pain in her left arm that ran from her fingertips to her shoulder. Unfortunately, she didn't realize what was happening. Anne thought maybe she just overused those muscles.

When the pain wouldn't go away, she finally went to the doctor. She was told she had had a heart attack. Pretty scary news for someone in her early 40s.

In the video above, Anne shares why she's now a part of the 'Go Red Survivor Class.' Her moving message reminds us that we need to pay attention to our health. If you would like to honor Anne Schug-Williams as a local survivor, you can donate here.

As women, we try to take on the world and we don't have time to get sick, or heart attacks, strokes, and other major health issues don't happen to us. The 'Go Red for Women' campaign brings light to the seriousness of our health, and how we need to be aware of the warning signs, take preventative steps, and what to do if there is a problem.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be spotlighting other local survivors and sharing their stories, as we get ready for the Go Red for Women Luncheon on May 4th at Daniele's Banquet Specialists in New Hartford. You can get more information on the Go Red for Women Luncheon, and get your tickets here.
You can also get your tickets by emailing Anne Sullivan at: anne.sullivan@heart.org
