Spring has arrived, the month of May is here, and there's a great outdoor event coming up for families.

Made In Utica is excited to announce Kids Day at Handshake.City, a free event devoted to family fun in Downtown Utica. It's Saturday May 11th from 10am-2pm and features vendors, food trucks and fun activities. Kids Day will also be the first event of the season at the container park and event space in Bagg’s Square, under the bridge at Union Station.

Some of the fun stuff for kids includes the Little Ninja Adventure Course, a Puppet Show, and the Utica Zoo Zoomobile. There’s even a teen zone for older kids. And gentle workouts for the body, mind and soul from Jill Hayes Yoga and In Bloom Yoga.

Learn about the Child Safe ID program from Oneida County Sheriff, Utica CPR, and Fire Safety from Utica Fire Department. Gather information from Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, Primary Urgent Care, United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area. The folks from Kids Oneida, Utica Children’s Museum, The Ride for Missing Children, Compassion Coalition and the Bargain Grocer will also be on hand.

“We are excited to launch Phase Two of Handshake.City with a new event, and are going big for Kids Day,” said co-founder Katie Reilly. “This year our goal is to enhance what we’ve built with more unique cultural entertainment offerings.”
