Handshake City Hosting Pop-Up Photo Shoot Fundraiser in Utica
Feeling glamorous? Get yourself to Handshake City in Utica for a pop-up photo shoot with professional photographers, all to raise money for the container park.
On Sunday, August 23rd, from 4-7pm, two local professional photographers, Mark Simon, and Ken & Amy Smith of Smith Imagery, will be at the container park - which features over 15 urban/art locations. You can get your photos taken, and use the shots for senior portraits, head shots, lifestyle pics, family pictures, holiday cards, dog photos - whatever you have in mind.
Each session will last 20 minutes, and all the photos will be delivered digitally. Each session is $60, and all of the proceeds go to Handshake City. There are only 18 spots - and you can sign up HERE.
Handshake City is located in Bagg's Square, at Water & Division Streets.
Nervous about having your picture taken? Here are some tips for looking better in pictures, courtesy of petapixel.com:
- Dress for the photo shoot. Wear a color that flatters you. Don’t wear clothes that have crazy patterns and stay away from striped/checkered shirts. Also make sure your clothes aren’t wrinkled or bunching up, it can add weight if clothes are too baggy.
- Move around and dance. Try not to appear too tense and rigid. Dance around a little and shake out your body.
- Facial expressions. Laugh and smile. Keep your tongue behind your teeth. Look slightly above the lens. Try looking away from the camera and a few facial expressions. Candid shots are engaging and more interesting than the traditional “say-cheese” forced smile.
