Marlo Thomas Was ‘That Girl’ [VIDEO]

Now that I'm grown up I've learned that inspiring actors and actresses really do live in New York City. In this nostalgic TV show Marlo Thomas played the role of Ann Marie who was a struggling actress living in the Big Apple. In between trying to find jobs acting and modeling she did find time for her boyfriend, Don Hollinger played by Ted Bessell, and her dad, Lou Marie played by Lew Parker.
'That Girl' ran from 1966 to 1971 and at the end of the 1969–'70 season, the show was still doing pretty good in the ratings, however, after four years, Marlo Thomas had grown tired of the show and wanted a change. ABC convinced her to do one more year and she did. In the beginning of the final season, Don and Ann became engaged, although we never actually see them get married.
