If you've driven by the Utica Memorial Auditorium in the last few months, you've no-doubt noticed the construction happening on the building's west end. 'The Aud' it turns out is getting executive suite-style seating.

According to UticaComets.com, when construction is complete there will be 6 executive suites sold at 3 and 5 year licenses along with a single-game use 'Lodge' seating section.

The suite licenses will include 20 season tickets, 5 parking passes in the Labatt Blue parking lot, a suite level member card and a dedicated entrance for suite-holders.

On top of the access to Comets games, suite-holders will also get into all Aud-promoted events throughout the year.

And don't worry, if you cant get a suite license this year because suite-holders will be able to sell their suite for individual games just like regular season ticket holders.

The Lodge seating section will hold about 50 people, and as mentioned before will be available on a per-game basis, so you can rent it out for parties and events. Just like the suites, the Lodge will also be available for other Aud-promoted events.

The best part of the suites being added might be the benefits that are passed along to Comets fans.

The new suite seating will open approximately 50 season ticket spots, and some of those spots will be in the '100 level' seating. There will also be space freed up in the 'upper bowl' which will allow for more group nights for local businesses and organizations.

If you're interested in getting a suite license, you can contact David Sietsma, the Aud's Director of Ticketing and Suite Representative at 315-790-9070.

Construction on the suites and lodge seating areas is expected to be completed before the Comets' first home game by November 1.
