Friendly's recently emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closed several stores in their chain, including many in the Capitol Region.  Now a local Friendly's will close their doors.

WKTV reports that the North Utica Friendly's on Genesee Street is closing on January 22.  However this closing is not related to Friendly's financial troubles, but rather,

Company representatives say that the closing is not part of a string of closures of Friendly's Restaurants around the country, but its because of the lease on the location coming to an end.

"The lease has been terminated at that location and we are forced to vacate," the corporate spokesperson said Friday.
