Nutritionist Claims Pizza For Breakfast Is Actually Good For You
Step aside Cheerios. Make room Frosted Flakes. There's a new breakfast in town: pizza.
Yup. Turns out that versus a bowl of breakfast cereal, pizza is actually a much better breakfast for you.
Nutritionist Chelsey Amer, MS, RDN, CDN told The Daily Meal, “You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories. However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”
Now, don't get us wrong...pizza is probably not a better choice versus oatmeal with raisins - but it won't leave you feeling hungry a little while later. And you won't get that wicked sugar crash afterwards, either.
Plus - it's pizza. Throw some vegetables on there - and it's practically a salad. Sort of.
