NYSP Seize Nearly $100,000 in Drugs in Chenango County
What an amazing job done by the New York State Police (and this handsome police dog) in taking thousands of dollars of drugs off the streets in Chenango County.
In a press release today, NYSP said they arrested Pennsylvanians 28-year-old Jordan A. Melendez and 24-year-old Kimberly M. Rivas on November 14 and charged them with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 2nd and 3rd degree.
Police had search warrants for multiple locations throughout Chenango County related to the case, and found crystal meth, pure Fentanyl and marijuana, which altogether has a street value of $96,000. They also found loaded handguns, illegally-possessed long guns, scales, packaging materials and over $3,000 in cash.
Both Melendez and Rivas are in Chenango County Jail without bail for the time being, and additional charges are possible. The case is still under investigation.
