U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos has announced 342 schools as the 2017 National Blue Ribbon Schools. One of those schools is right here in our Central New York backyard.

According to their website, the award is based on a school’s overall academic excellence. National Blue Ribbon Schools demonstrate that all students can achieve to high levels. Secretary DeVos praised the 2017 schools, saying "National Blue Ribbon Schools are active demonstrations of preparing every child for a bright future. You are visionaries, innovators, and leaders.”

Clinton Senior High School was recognized as a 2017 Blue Ribbon School, in the 'Exemplary High Performing Schools' category. In their application, the district described their school:

Clinton Senior High School's foundation is built upon a culture that embodies the benefits of a tightly knit community to help foster and support student learning. At the heart of our success is our student body, which is comprised of a group of highly motivated, hard working, and deeply compassionate individuals who contribute to Clinton's welcoming, safe, and effective learning environment where all students can flourish.

Congratulations to the administration, teachers, staff, and students at Clinton High School.
