Slow Down in Clinton – New School Speed Limit

There's a new reduced speed limit in the village of Clinton, and it's cutting the speed in half to help keep school kids and pedestrian safer.

The speed limit on Chenango Ave North has been 15mph in front of the school for a long time. But they have now decided to expand the School Zone to include part of Kirkland Ave. The new zone now begins by the NBT Bank at the end of Park Row West, and continues all the way to the Clinton Arena. The new School Zone speed limit signs are now up and you will probably see authorities patrolling the area. The 15mph speed limit will be in effect on school days from 7am-4pm.

That stretch of Kirkland Ave has been 30mph, so this is a significant change. As always, be extra alert and on the lookout for children and other pedestrians near any schools. Hopefully this new law will help keep things safer in the village.
