Rome Mourns Teen Killed in Crash
A teenager from Rome has died from injuries sustained in a car accident.
According to WBNG, SUNY Broome freshman Miranda Gifford died Wednesday from injuries sustained in an accident that happened Monday in Oxford.
Gifford was driving in on South Canal Street in Oxford when authorities say she crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a service vehicle. Gifford was airlifted from the scene to Syracuse University Hospital. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Gifford was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and was a freshman at SUNY Broome, where she was a member of the basketball and softball teams.
