When the teams of teenagers are competing for a state title, the tension is high. Does that excuse what happened at the conclusion of the Florida state water polo championship? We think not, and so does the other team. At a match between traditional rivals, the Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) and Miami (Fla.) Belen Jesuit School, someone took a cool dip from a hot member of the other team.

STA got the better of Belen Jesuit with a final score of 13-10, capturing the school’s first water polo title. But the splashing wasn't over yet.

When the teams lined up to walk through the traditional handshake line, a classic gesture aimed at maintaining a sense of good sportsmanship, a player got more than a shake. Apparently a Belen player used the opportunity to launch one of his STA rivals into the pool rather than shake his hand. In the end, the teams made-up and all is well around the pool now.
