Syracuse University Scores Major Props From Military

Syracuse University is the #1 private college for veterans, according to the Military Times. So, even though SU fared just okay in a recent study by WalletHub about the top U.S. universities overall, the Orange is superb with the red, white and blue.

The Military Times is a leading website and publication which provides key information regarding veterans, the military, and the U.S. national defense industry. They ranked over 100 collegiate institutions in such areas as enrollment, graduations rates, fields of study, accreditation and other factors. Syracuse University was not only #1 among private colleges, but #4 overall. Here are the Military Times rankings of all New York schools:

• University of Buffalo #76
• SUNY Oswego #98
• St. Joseph's #102
• Manhattan College #118
• SUNY Buffalo State #137

Syracuse's #4 overall ranking is remarkable, because most of the colleges on the list are public. SU was the only private institution in the top 10. Georgia Southern University ranks #1 overall and Rutgers is #3.

A handful of community colleges in New York state also made the list of two-year schools recognized by The Military Times.
